Oomama's Fundraising Committee organizes events in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and its work to help grandmothers caring for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

Consisting of lively and motivated women, the group meets monthly to brainstorm and organize. Subcommittees are then formed to steer each project, but receive the support of all Oomamas when an event is ready to go. It's always exciting and lots of fun!

Since 2005, Oomama has raised over $500,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

How is money raised?
Funds are raised through creative endeavours including community events ranging from bridge luncheons, "Dare to Dine" initiatives, arts and theatrical productions, golf tournaments, keynote speakers, and business partnerships.

We also sell Oomama notecards ($2.00 each or three for $5.00). Click here to order.

100% of the money raised goes directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Seed money, for operating expenses, comes from our $20 annual membership fee and from specifically directed donations.

All Oomamas are volunteers and new members are always welcome!
