Stride to Turn The Tide

Join us for the 10th anniversary of Stride to Turn the Tide!

Stride to Turn the Tide is a powerful act of solidarity. What started as a great idea from grandmothers in Canmore, Alberta is now in its 10th year! Each year, all across Canada, Grandmother Campaign groups and community members walk in support of grandmothers in Africa who are raising children orphaned by AIDS, advocating for their rights and turning the tide of HIV & AIDS in their communities.

Halton-Peel Virtual Stride Walk — April 1-May 31, 2019

Oomama and the Bronte Grandmothers for Africa invite you to join the Halton-Peel Stride Team in a two-month challenge to “virtually” walk across Canada! Follow a 6,890 kilometres route that symbolically visits many of the 240 Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign groups along the way. A fun alternative to the traditional walk, participants walk when and where they want between April 1 and May 31, logging their steps with a pedometer as they work-out, walk, bike, swim or hike the “virtual” trek across Canada.
