FOURTH ANNUAL STRIDE to TURN the TIDE NATIONAL FUNDRAISER

In June 2013, Oomama Grandmothers, along with Bronte Grandmothers, Burlington's Ubuntu Grandwomen, Blooms for Africa and Halton Grandmothers joined together to form The Halton Team to raise awareness for the HIV/AIDS Pandemic and its consequences in sub Saharan Africa.

The 141 walkers, along with the generosity of their donors, raised $53,375 which will go to  support grassroots projects run by the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign for African grandmothers caring for the orphans of the pandemic. The 2013 National Stride to Turn the Tide Walk was the fourth annual walk with over 90 grandmother groups across Canada participating.
